Cet article présente les principales modalités de prise en charge de ruminants atteints de FCO dans le cadre de la pratique courante d’un vétérinaire mixte de l’Aveyron confronté à la résurgence du sérotype 8 en 2023.
Résumé
La France a été confrontée en 2023 et en 2024 à une nouvelle épizootie de la fièvre catarrhale ovine (FCO, sérotypes 8 et 3). Les praticiens de terrain ont été confrontés à une résurgence violente du BTV-8 et ont dû administrer des soins à de nombreux ruminants. Cet article expose les principaux signes cliniques et les thérapies qui peuvent être pratiquées dans nos clientèles.
Abstract
In 2023 and 2024, France was confronted with a new epizootic of bluetongue (serotypes 8 and 3). Practitioners in the field were confronted with a violent resurgence of BTV-8 and had to administer care to numerous ruminants. In this article, we outline the main clinical signs and therapies that can be applied in our practice.
