Résumé

Des coproduits comme la pulpe de betterave, la drèche de blé ou des coproduits de biscuiterie peuvent être valorisés en engraissement de taurillons. Les risques liés à des approvisionnements irréguliers ou à des écarts de composition chimique par rapport aux valeurs moyenne doivent être gérés.

Abstract

By-products as beet pulp, wheat distillers’ grain and biscuit can be used in steers production. Risks associated with unstable supply or chemical composition differing from table values must be managed. Early intervention improves the prognosis, but high risks of relapse remain. The etiology of this syndrome is not yet clearly established: it seems that its occurrence requires the combined action of two agents, one bacterial (Clostridium perfringens type A or Escherichia coli producers of shigatoxins - STEC) and other of mycotic origin, probably via a mycotoxin. It still remains to better understand its pathophysiology to propose truly preventive measures.
